I never wanted to say goodbye
I never wanted to say goodbye
I never wanted you to leave
Why do you hate me?
Why do you ignore me?
We used to be best friends,
But now we’re enemies.
I don’t know who you are
You changed
You’re not the same.
What happened to the laughs?
The tricks we played on others.
What did I do
To make you hate me?
Did I say or do something wrong?
You used to be the one I came to,
Now you are the one I run away from.
I want the old Mackenzie back,
Where did you go?
Why did you change?
I never want to say goodbye
I never wanted you to leave
You promised me day after day,
We would be friends to the end.
I should have never,
Believed in your lies.
I was there for you,
Whenever you needed a hand
I’m sorry I don’t fit in,
With your new friends.
But that shouldn’t matter,
I was your best friend,
Before, they came along.
I should have known better,
I should have known,
You would turn your back on me.
I miss going and seeing movies,
Staying up late, and goofing off.
I thought or friendship,
Would last for years,
But I guess that was another,
One of your lies.
I never wanted to say goodbye
I never wanted you to leave.
