“I like you,” my dad said as he reached across the car and kissed the top of my head.
I changed the radio station to 103.7.
“That was really random.” I said, placing my feet on the dash, “I like you, too.”
“It’s just I know you’ve had a long day with school and cross country and you don’t want to yak. I just miss talking to you.” He glanced over at me.
“Well I appreciate it because I know if you were Mom you’d be talking your head off and asking a million questions and you’d get mad at me when I snapped at you for—“
“I know,” he interrupted.
“I just want to listen to music,” I sighed.
“I can’t believe you’re listening to Led Zeppelin.”
