Feminism Is Not Male Bashing!
"Feminism isn't about making women strong. Women are already strong. It's about changing the way the world perceives that strength" says G.D Anderson. But I believe to make the world perceive female strength, women need to be empowered. However by thinking that men are getting more rights and debating over female rights, we won't attain female rights. India has already recognized female rights but now it's time for India to recognize female empowerment. So let me take you to a tour in my world of women and make you see this world through my window!
International Women's Day is on 8th march which most of us know but you know International Men's Day is on 19th November but sadly there are'nt any such major issues that we can talk about on International Men's Day. This day is dormant, not because men are not discriminated but because men are empowered while women still lag empowerment. Why is it so? I think this is because of two reasons: First - Men don't know the definition of a "real man". Second - Women don't know the definition of a "real woman". Raping, molesting, domestic violence, etc seem to be like a culture which is carried on by men and tolerated by women. But let me tell you a real man is not violent and real woman is not tolerant to it. India is a male dominant country, it is dominated by men but don't forget that Pandit Nehru, a man himself, said that "Women empowered means mother India empowered." Men are quite smart, they are doing their part by being dominant and keeping up that "male dominant" status of India. But are women playing their part? Are women empowered? I don't really think so. Ladies you are lot more than you think of yourself, forget about what people think, so go find your true self, EMPOWER YOURSELF! A woman's identity is shaped my her work not by her dress. You can empower yourself in a hijab or burkha, in ghunghats or sarees, in shorts or skirts. So find pride in your own self, confidence in your own being and celebrate because femininity is the greatest asset you can owe!
