The Dream
There are a lot of people in this world who are fortunate to be living it
large. There are some people who are privileged to move on in life. For Wallace, that is different. ‘’Go take the trash out before I put you out,’’ said Reynold. Wallace’s dad was not a guy to play with when it came to doing daily chores.
Wallace took the bag out of the house, grunting insult about Reynold to himself. Wallace had a long, stressful day in school, and immediately went to bed. He had taken a one-hundred and fifty question biology quiz for Mr. White. Wallace is now in an immense dream. He sees this girl he is extremely attracted to. ‘’Who can tell me what a dominant trait is,’’ said Mr. White. ‘’Hmm, let’s choose Wallace.’’ He was very embarrassed. ‘’A trait that passes on every generation,’’ said Wallace, very nervously.
The girl giggled at Wallace and continued writing notes. The girl turned her head to Wallace with a genuine, delighted stare. ‘’Hey, wanna talk…?’’ Wallace shot up out of bed and looked out of the window. His mother, Jessica, came in his room worried. ‘’What’s wrong son?’’ Wallace’s mother was always by his side.
‘’It feels like I’m in love.’’
‘’Well, what happened, babe?
‘’There’s this girl I keep seeing but I’m too nervous to say anything to her.’’
Reynold comes in the room, fiercely. ‘’What are you doing talking to him? He is not part of us.’’ Wallace did not have any blood connection with them. He was adopted when he was three years old. He is now seventeen. ‘’He is falling in love,’’ said Jessica, annoyed. ‘’Man, he’s nothing to us. Nobody cares if he wants a girlfriend.’’ Reynold gets closer to Wallace and latches a strong grip on his shoulders. Wallace gives him a threatening stare, hoping he would release his grip. Reynold backed off of Wallace. ‘’Whoa! You’re playing a game of ‘Mr. Tough Guy’?’’
Jessica is now in her defensive state and slams Reynold to the ground.
