Moonflower
The other day I saw a flower in the ground, its little head peeping from the soil. I asked her why she drooped so sad. Then, as if magic, the delicate thing rose her shrouded head and unfurled her petals before me. She gazed intently at the yellowed moon rising over my shoulder. I turned and stared with her, a shudder running down my spine, a shiver running down her stem. Together we stared at its heavenly light.
