Harsh words are exchanged
Older brother calling names.
Younger sister says mean things.
Father mad with anger words
Mother up set saying bad things
Tears will fall only to be wiped away with the “I’m sorry or “Please forgive me”
Mean words are taken back later and forgiveness is given
That older brother says “I’m sorry for calling names”
The younger sister now says nice things to make up for mean things
Father, now calm with nice words
Mother, now happy saying good things
But me, I’m in my room, not wanting them to see my tear streaked face
From all the mean things they have said to me for making a mistake
And even though I have given forgiveness and brushed away the hard feels like dust
I’m not ready to face them, no … not yet, so they leave me be for awhile
But before the day is done, I’ll go see them, because
Forgiveness is always given
So always give forgiveness even if it’s really hard
