The Rain
I stood in the cold whispering mist at the top of the ocean cliff, looking down at the gloomy, green water. The wind blew my bone thin body as I watched the black storm clouds roll in, making it as dark as midnight. Inhaling, I could smell the moist clean air. Crack, boom, whoooshhh was all that I could hear as the wall of freezing rain hit me.
Running for the cracked door of the red and blue light house, glowing a homey yellow light from the lamp inside, I could taste the salty rain. My hands were numb as I fumbled for the cold and wet door handle.
Once inside, it made me feel warm and cozy with it's musty smell. On the wood planked floor, lay a pillow and some blankets. I plopped down and fell into a refreshing sleep immediately. Even my dreams were warm. Comfort.
