Finding life
When Alex was born her parents treated her like a princess. She was the miracle child, her mom and dad had been waiting for so long. Everything started off good, they were the perfect family. The family that everyone looked up to and wanted to have. All of that changed dramatically after a while. It turned the whole family around.
Alex’s parents focused so much on her that they forgot about everything else. Her dad lost his job because he kept on missing days. He missed work to spend time with his baby girl. He did start looking for a new job, but it wasn’t working out for him. After so many times of getting turned down he gave up and started looking for other ways to support his family.
Alex’s dad started selling drugs. They were getting by for the first couple of years, until he became addicted and the addiction got the best of him. He overdosed, and she was the one that found his body. She was only 9 years old at that time and it changed her life completely. She didn’t talk to anybody for months after that.
Her mom didn’t know what to do with her. So she gave her daughter up for adoption. She didn’t have any money to support Alex, and no one to help her out with her. She didn’t even try to stay with her daughter. Once it started getting tough she gave up.
Alex was never adopted, and when she hit 18 years old she got kicked out of the orphanage she was in. She had nowhere to go. Desperate and alone she went looking for her mother because she was the only one she had left. It took her almost two years to track down her mom. She went to her old house but her mom had moved out years ago. She didn’t know what to do after that, so she decided to contract a detective to track her mother down. She didn’t have any money so she had to get to work to pay off the private detective.
With no experience and no education it was difficult to find a job, but she found one at last. Alex wanted to save up all her money to pay the detective so he would get started on looking for her mom. She didn’t have anywhere to sleep because she didn’t want to waste money on rent, she ate once a day, and worked as long as she could to earn as much money as she could. After so much hard work and money spent, the detective found her mother. Once the detective gave Alex her mother’s address, she dropped everything and went to her mother’s house.
What Alex expected was for her and her mother to reunite. To build more memorable memories like the ones she had before she was given up for adoption. She wanted that mother daughter bond she didn’t get to have. But it didn’t turn out that way.
What she found she never expected to find. She knocked at the door and asked for Maya her mother, the lady that answered the door told her that it was her. Alex asked her if she remembered a little girl named Alex. Maya said she didn’t know anyone that had that name. All Alex said was “Wrong house” and left. She could not believe that her own mother had forgotten and denied her.
She walked for hours without getting anywhere. She didn’t have anyone left in her life. She kept thinking and thinking, she didn’t have anyone to live for. She waited for the bus at the side of the road, but it took forever. She got up and walked to the other side of the road, but before she got to the other side a semi ran her over. The driver didn’t see her until it was too late. Alex was taken to the hospital but she didn’t make it. She died at the hospital when she was only 20 years old.
