The Trip
The Trip
It felt like an eternity waiting for the last bell to ring. It was the only thing that separated them from spring break which meant no school or work for the next week. They had rented an Airbnb so that they could all stay together. Everything was planned out to the last detail of what they were going to do over there. “Ding, ding, ding.” They all rushed out of the building and drove off to pick up their belongings. If they left right now, they could make it by morning.
Lily and David took all the luggage’s in one truck so the others wouldn’t be all squished since it was four of them in the other truck. During the drive over there they saw the prettiest view. They were mesmerized with the sunset over the field of sunflowers. Lily, Rose, and Kimberly made sure that the guys took multiple pictures of them, so that they could remember the moment.
Finally after what felt like a million hours they made it to the cabin that they rented. It took a while to unload everything since they could barely feel their legs anymore. Once they rested, they went out to buy groceries and supplies. While they were at the grocery store, they felt like they were being watched and it turned out to just be a random creepy guy. Now all they wanted to do was eat and sleep all night.
The next day they hiked the mountains around Lake Tahoe. It was such a nice experience through the nature trails since they saw multiple waterfalls and animals. They were pulling into the driveway when Santiago noticed that there was a car parked across the street. He got out fast and started running towards the car, but it sped off. “Nothing like seeing weirdos on a trip,” said Kimberly.
“We should take out the girls,” said David. That way they would be distracted from the incident earlier. “Lily isn’t feeling well so I think I’ll go buy her medicine while y’all go out,” said Fabian. Rose, Kimberly, David, and Santiago all went out and went from club to club having fun. At the cabin Lily was alone waiting for Fabian to come back, and she kept hearing noises outside. When Fabian got back, he had bought roses to make Lily feel special. He placed a trail of petals going all the way from the kitchen to their room. When he finally snapped out of being a romantic, he noticed that there was some red stuff on the door handle. He rushed into the room calling out “Lily where are you?” but he couldn’t find her anywhere. He then went outside to try and look for her in the woods.
Meanwhile at the club Rose said “Guys I think we should head back now. It's getting late already, and we should check up on Lily.” They called Lily to ask if she wanted some food because they were going to buy pizza, but she didn’t answer. Kimberly tried calling Fabian, buy still no answer and it made them worry. When they arrived at the cabin the door was unlocked. “Santiago, David” called out to Rose “The door is open.” Both of them walked in first and on the ground, they saw a trail of petals leading to blood. “Lily” cried Kimberly “Is she dead?” “Her body isn’t here,” David said. All of a sudden Fabian walk in crying and everyone turns to look at him. “How could you? She was your girlfriend and you killed her,” screamed Rose. “She was gone when I came back from the store. I loved her so much” Fabian said. “Stop jumping to conclusions. We all need to work together to find her,” said Kimberly. They all headed to the kitchen to talk about what they could do for right now and when Rose went to lock the door, she found a letter. It read “Who picked Lily out of the garden?” Fabian was devastated after reading it and they all decided to just rest and look for her the next day since the darkness outside wouldn't help them.
It was awfully quiet in the morning. They all gathered to talk about what they were going to do to find Lily. “Ding. Dong” They went to open the door but all they found was a paper folded up. It read “Care so little about Lily to go out and look for her” The letter angered them because they knew that they were going to look for her. They didn’t need the killer trying to tell them that they didn’t care for her. David, Rose, Kimberly, and Santiago all went out to look for Lily in the forest and they found more blood smeared on the trees. Fabian went his separate way and he found one of her shoes covered in blood. They got back to the cabin to tell each other what they had found. While Rose was entering the cabin, she discovered another letter but this time it was different. In the front it said “You’ll know the truth real soon” and the back side “Grocery store ate 4:00pm.”
Rose told her boyfriend Santiago to take her to the store and on the way over she explained to him why. They walked into the store when suddenly, she felt a tap on her shoulder. “Looking for me” they turn around to see who it is and are left dumbfounded. It was the creepy guy that had stalked them from the beginning. “Are you kidding? Is this a sick joke” they said? “Sick joke the one that’s being played on you guys and your friends” says the creepy guy. “What are you talking about?” Santiago replied looking confused. “Your friend Lily is making y'all think she’s dead. She hired me to stage a bloody scene and act like a stalker. That way y’all could already be on edge and believe what happened to her” the creepy guy told them. “Are you seriously telling me that she’s alive!” Rose screamed. She was so furious that she felt certain she could kill Lily herself. “If she’s really alive then where is she at?” Santiago asked. The guy replied “There’s a bunk in the forest about 1 mile out from where you’re staying and that’s where she has been hiding.” As soon as Rose and Santiago heard that they ran out of the store and called their friends and drove to the cabin in a hurry.
All of them were astonished as to what they had just discovered. They didn’t want to waste any time and they went to look for the bunk. “It’s really here” they all said when they found a scary looking bunk. They opened the door and to their surprise there she was sitting on a bed smiling at them. She had no shame in telling them what she had done. “Why’d you, do it?” asked Kimberly. “I wanted to see if y’all truly cared about me because when I was ‘sick’ none of you guys went and even said goodbye to me before leaving. “Because of that you decided to play dead, Lily you’re one delusional person,” said Santiago. Lily, still smiling, just pushed a button and gas started coming out. They were all confused and said “What’s going on? What is this gas?” All Lily responded was “night night everyone.” Then all of a sudden Rose heard “ding.ding,ding.” “Rose wake up, we need to go.” Santiago whispered to her. “What happened?” she asked. He replied, “You fell asleep in class and by the looks of it your dream seemed more eventful than what our week is going to be.”
