August 2022 Fiction Contest: Bones In the Ocean

People think pirates are horrible beings but they aren’t. Take Captain Philiph or Phil. He was a prisoner on my ship but when the waves betrayed me and left me to rot in the ocean he saved me. The crew of the Trixin are all nice orphaned people just wanting a family. Sure they steal and harm others but all of it is just for the crew. I understand why they do these things now. I can't believe I wanted to go against them. They are family now and I’ll protect them with my life. What can I say I’ve changed!
