League of Legends
League of Legends is a free multiplayer online battle arena video game, where teams of five battle in matches that can vary in length from twenty minutes to one hour. You control one of the 124 unique super powered characters called Champion from above, looking down and right clicking to move and using your keyboard to activate the Champions abilities.
League of Legends is a very competitive game, I know people who always play with their friends and never take part in the ranking system, and even then they can get really angry at losing sometimes. The fact that it’s very competitive also means that it’s extremely satisfying when you go up in rank or beat your opponent in a fight, just the fact that its player vs. player means that it can be very frustrating and also very rewarding at the same time.
The game can be very social too, with one of the major reasons I still play this game while getting sick of other games is that I can get on and just play with my friends, although because this is such a popular game (at least in the top three games played worldwide) and because it’s so teamwork focused, it somewhat inevitably has a fairly toxic community.
Since this is a free online game there is, of course, going to be micro transactions, in League of Legends it’s not too bad, with buying costume changes for the champions the biggest reason to use real money, there are ways to speed up the gathering of permanent upgrades, but if they do make the person win more, they will just be matched up with better players next game.
In conclusion I’d say that while my main focus might be on the fact that my friends play the game, and I would play Dota or really any other MOBA out there if my friends played it, there’s certainly a reason why people play it competitively, and while MOBA’s in general can be hard to pick up, League of Legends at least try’s to go easy on you at first. Overall if you want to really get into a game and play it a bunch or if you have friends who play it, I definitely think you should check it out.

I'm just getting into writing, so even though this probably won’t get more people into League of Legends, since by now ether you’ve tried it out or decided it’s not the kind of game for you, I figured I’d start my writing career with something I know about, thanks for reading and if you have any constructive criticism please be sure to leave it below, I certainly know this isn’t perfect.
