This story, in my review depicts the relationship between two has beens, could bes and almost have drunks. A husband and wife have a couple over for dinner while verbally/physically abusing eachother with playful conduct, sharing of idiosyncratic personal information, and an ongoing rising of drunk demeanor. Meanwhile the guest couple is uncomfortable and memorized all at once.


I read that this film came out during the Cuban Missile Crisis and the audience came to the theater to escape the reality of the war/a nuclear threat to instead deal with multiple slurs and soliloquy of curse words and off-color phrases.

The times have changed, but the audience may not have. I felt myself with the same touch of emotion as the original audience.
This movie is a must-see if you are looking to escape the reality of any thing less than average!!!
