City of Bones by Cassendra Clare
This book is set in modern day New York but with a sense of magic. The main character Clary Fray, along with her friend Simon Lewis, get thrown in to the Shadow World that contains some beast and myths only found in stories. Vampires, werewolves and Demons all make up this fantastic book. Now also in the Shadow World are the half angel hybrids known as Shadowhunters. These "people" hunt and kill the demons that would otherwise over take the mundane world. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a love triangle, gay couples, and of course demons.
