                  The Hobbit Review

The main characters in The Hobbit are Bilbo, Gandalf, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Ori, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Thorin, Kili, Fili, Balin, Dwalin, Smaug, Gollum, the goblins, and the trolls. This novel takes place in Middle Earth.

The Hobbit is about these twelve dwarves and a hobbit and a wizard on an adventure to Rivendale to meet Elrond. Elrond is a friend of Gandalf’s. When they arrived there Elrond told them to go to Esgaroth through Mirkwood Forest. Mirkwood Forest is a dark and unpleasant forest to be wandering around there especially with the elves around. The elves are mean to the dwarves and Bilbo Baggins has to save them from the spider.

I would recommend this book because The Hobbit is a novel that expresses liveliness to people when Smaug shot fire at Bilbo in the cave and when Smaug got shutdown by the magic arrow. The movie is also fun to watch, but that is another subject besides reading. Reading also encourages kids to do better things. If kids read The Hobbit it will express to kids not to do bad things because the way Bilbo treated his companions was astonishing.

The novel was good at the beginning because Bilbo was beginning to get to know what was going on with the whole situation with Thorin and Company. The company was about burglarizing stuff from Smaug. What I didn’t like is when Thorin got killed by Smaug. Smaug then got killed by the magic arrow which was awesome.
