Gathering Blue
This book review is on the book Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. I like this book. It’s about a girl named Kira whose mother has just died. Kira’s life has had one to many tragedies in her life such as her leg being twisted and lifeless therefore it is a pain to drag around all the time. Kira is forced to live in the palace because of her job. This book has a good tone to go with the story, mysterious and dark. I wouldn’t recommend this book to someone who hasn’t read any other Lois Lowry books. It is in a series with The Giver and Messenger, but you don’t need to read the other ones to get this one. It’s the 2nd book in the series. Kira’s friend matt is a wild crazy boy who befriended a dog and named it Branch/ Branchie. I a futuristic society where the week are treated poorly will Kira, and her friends Matt and Jo will they over come will they fight back? But, more importantly will Kira learn how to dye the singer’s robe, which she is repairing, blue? Well find out in Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry.
