Introduction
North America has been taken over by the extremely powerful Capitol. And it has now been divided into 12 districts, the 13th district was destroyed by a rebellion. In order to keep the 12 districts aware of who runs the country, every year the Capitol arranges a game to death in an elaborate area. Each district has a drawing of one boy and one girl to go as tributes. When Prim Everdeen was picked, her sister Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take her place in the games. Along with Katniss comes Peeta Mellark, the baker’s son. In this game everyone has to fend for themselves against all of the natural elements, the Game makers and the contestants whose only option is to kill or be killed.
I thought this was an amazing book. I couldn’t put the book down, I was up many hours of the night reading this book. It’s set up very good and you can actually understand this book unlike some others.
