A Child Called "It" by Dave Pelzer
The book I am reviewing is about a little boy who gets beat by his mother. A Child Called “It” is a touching story about a little boy named David who gets beat by his mother for years. His mother treats him like he’s nothing and like he’s not a part of their family. She does terrible things to him; like put him on the stove, slaps him, beats him, and doesn’t feed him at all. Also his father just sits and watches as his wife beats on their child because he is afraid of her. I feel like the author achieved his purpose of this book because it touched me. The writing effective is powerful because it should touch you in a way. I would definitely recommend this book for somebody because it’s so powerful, really good, and so touching. This book makes me want to read all the other books that he made about his life after being beat his life.
