Slam! by Walter Dean Myers
Slam going one-on-one with his future. It’s a showdown he can’t lose.
This book is taking place in the hood of a big city. Slam is the protagonist who also tells the story. Slam is also a great basketball player who never gives up. But he can’t stand losing or be intimidated.
I enjoyed how the author gives you a clear picture what could be a real life story. The author shared a story of inspiration and hope. Slam was able to be victorious in the end I was encouraged that I can overcome any situation.
I believe this book could inspire anyone to never give up, no matter how hard things seem. I would enjoy reading his other novels.
