Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
Auden West, an unassuming teenage girl, spends all of her time doing one thing: being as adult and mature as possible. This is how it’s always been, even before her parent’s divorce. She spends her days tutoring, going to a special private school, and her nights studying. All this changes when Auden decides to visit her dad, stepmother, and baby sister in the beach town of Colby for the summer. There, she is pulled into the mysterious world that is being a teenage girl, complete with all the drama, laughter, and tears. Among all her new experiences is Eli, a fellow insomniac with a tragic past, who helps her realize the possibility of second chances. An inspirational tale of a young woman learning to use her wings, Along for the Ride will speak to your heart and convince you, too, that second chances can be given to those who will accept them.
