Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli
Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli is a novel of historical fiction set in Warsaw, Poland during World War II. The main theme of Good versus Evil is throughout the novel, the Jackboots are taking over the Jews and are killing them.
Milkweed is about a young orphan named Misha, he’s a Jew. He came to Warsaw on his own, didn’t know one thing about himself. He meets a boy named Uri, who also is on his own. Uri and Misha steal food for a while. then misha meets a little girl named janunia and her family. The jackboots built a wall in between the ghetto and the town. There is enough space in the wall for Misha and Janunia to get on the other side to steal food for there family. They did this every night.
