Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
“Interesting enough for you two, this love story involves both a Wate and a Duchannes. A confederate soldier, and a beautiful mistress of Greenbrier.”
In a fantastical novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, one is thrown into the Southern town of Gatlin. Ethan Wate is a young man yearning to leave the dreary town, until he meets the girl of his dreams...literally. Lena Duchannes is mysterious and beautiful and in a town with no surprises, their unusual attraction will uncover a truth that came unexpected.
This book has great potential in becoming the next teen phenomenon. However, younger readers may not appreciate it as much, due to the deep emotion and the ultimate idea. The writing style is skilled and easy to understand. I personally love the dialogue, the word choices are amazing. Fabulous work, no doubt, but a book recommended for the creative and open-minded.
