The Eleventh Plague, by Jeff Hirsch, tells a compelling story of action and danger in this sci-fi you get to learn about the aftermath of war and disease. You get to follow the mind of Stephen who tackles issues of survival and love as he faces many conflicts in the world he lives in. You get to watch as he builds relationships with people he doesn't know he can trust, and you live inside him as he attempts to resolve problems with the best possible option. Many changes are made in the story as you progress through it as you get to see many characters change alongside the protagonist, Stephen, as he adventures through a world of gloom and darkness with hopes for it to one day become a better place. Stephen also learns to cope with the loss, as he loses pieces of his family along the way.

I love this book as it displays something interesting you cannot witness in real life. This book is good for all people, readers or nonreaders, to learn about something that could happen in this world as it is a constant problem we have going on today. The Eleventh Plague gave me some fiction to read about. As I continued in this book, it seemed as if the protagonist Stephen almost felt real as I read inside the mind of him. I loved how almost every character was given a purpose in the story. I also admired how most characters from earlier in the book come back later and change the structure of the story which is not shown in many books. Another great part about the book is that the author Jeff Hirsch gives breaks in between the conflicts giving time for the characters to grow. I love this book and I would definitely recommend it to many mature readers.
