Black Review
The writing titled “Black,” written by Soler Bean, talks about discrimination based one a person’s race. Her writing left me feeling irritated. I feel irritated with Soler’s arguments since they are not necessarily correct or valid. She is writing about how racism is bad. She is a hypocrite when she says, “White ‘twerking’ Instagram girls.” This statement is racist since she is grouping all white females with Instagram and twerking even though not all white females do either one. Soler’s writing, “Black” does not recognize both sides of the argument. In her fourth stanza, she is speaking about how black people are being killed but does not say anything about white people being killed under the same conditions. There are things that she states that happen to blacks that also happen to whites, and she avoids that discussion.
