The Trees Creeked as I Screamed
In “The Trees Creaked as I Screamed” by lopezzedenise, I felt excited. The story was very short but in it was a fantastic word choice and a vocabulary that allowed for some sophisticated writing. Denise says “Confusion must be evident as I peer through the class in which I am encased.” This sentence was one of the ones that stood out to me. The writing was about a superhuman who escapes a research lab and also has to try to help other mutants escape. It seems like the superhuman in this story has super speed. This resonates with me as that’s been one of my favorite super powers since I was little. At the end of the story, Denise writes “I’m not going back, I thought, even if it means I will die in the process.
