A Subjectivist's Love Story
My love for you seeps out from my skin,
filling the storm clouds on which I float above.
Passing the chance to tell you would be a sin,
there is no brewing tempest more ominous than this love.
But what would become if, with my entire being in your hand,
you stare back at it with unreciprocative eyes
and treat my heart and soul as nothing grand?
We could shout our love in unison, feeling just the same,
but how could I ever know you love me, you truly do,
when life is but a one-player game?
My cloud’s torrent shall dissipate like the early-morning dew.
All I’ve ever known, and all I’ll ever be, exists within my mind.
We are searching for a truth that, together, my dear, is impossible to find.
