The monster
There I was,
face to face with her.
The only one
who knew me
more than anybody else
But
I have no idea
who this girl is
how to make her happy
and keep her that way.
In my left hand
I grasp
a large hammer tightly.
As warm tears
stream down my face,
I let
the hammer swing
behind my head.
I let out a simple,
“I’m Sorry,”
before releasing
a spring motion
onto the reflecting glass.
I watched it as it shattered.
“I did it!”
