Gleaming Skies
The moon wakes as the sun steadily sets
And we place blankets, gazing up above.
As the dim light turns us to silhouettes,
I can not help myself from thinking of
How the stars are shining for you, just you.
Counting the constellations line by line,
And you laying there watching the stars shine.
We could stay here until the sky turns blue.
I can’t help but compare how they beam
To how your smile does the same, all the time,
Or to the way your eyes constantly gleam
And that I’m glad you’re my partner in crime.
The stars light will always wither away,
But that only means we have a new day.
