One, Two, Three in the Flame
One: The smartest action was to flee,
But, she was a knowledge addict.
He saw the chance to manipulate,
And tricked the fear to dissipate.
Why, why did this man have power?
To inflict her with inner chaos?
She gave him the deed her her heart.
“Someday, we’ll never be apart.”
She took the abuse with a hope
That couldn’t be crushed after months
He spit up second-hand adoration.
This is a story of domination.
Inverse love, no, it was just - temptation.
Her own heart clamped on barbed wire.
Two: He was her vengeance, light of evil
A cough drop for a heart not beating
For her ill-intentions, he brought his
And she accepted it as what “is.”
but his own illness left her in black
Wrath of a man who had not her heart
Then the revenge crushed her ribs
The words stabbed with calligraphy nibs
Because she knew the world, now
She predicted her death to come
She couldn’t bring herself out of depression
From the man who supported her repression
Was it love? Not for his aggression
His barbaric foot stomped her chest one last time.
Three: And as she places one toe into light
Her heart swells and panic persists
All she can feel is the hot unease
But for some reason, it continues to please
Because there was the three in the flame
That burnt up the only life she’d known
She knows there’s something more
Some kind of love, something she’d adore
Or the cry of her heart to hurt it no more
Something upon the tip of her tongue
