The path of life is like a wrecking ball
Surrounding us with people watching
Just waiting for us all to fall
So in our place they can begin hatching

We all lay and wait
Hoping for someone to mess up
Just looking for the one moment
When we can come up on top

Underneath our happy mask
Lies a heart full of sorrow and heaviness
Not able to handle the task
Of trying to balance happiness and sadness

Like the wrecking ball we swing back and forth
Hoping for destruction
Waiting for that one person to come forth
And stop us all from extinction

But in the end we come out strong
Holding our heads up high in the sky
Not able to sing the painful song
Hoping to stop ourselves from saying goodbye.
