A Piece of Paradise
It's one of those beautiful summer days
out in the small dock.
The sun caresses us with its rays
as we talk.
I could live in this moment forever,
if only I could freeze time.
To repeat this will be my biggest endeavor,
to forget it would be a crime.
They're like the siblings I never wanted
but never knew I needed.
When I'm with them I'm undaunted.
I can't help but feel as if I've succeeded.
They're like home,
a safe place where I could always go.

I wrote this for my best friends, they're honestly one of my biggest blessings and often times my greatest muse.
