Servitude in Tranquility
If there was no darkness, bleakness to light
Dazzling white beauty, one-sided and blind
No sorrow, no shadows, no moonless night
Then perversions have robbed the careless mind
Heedless of price, most all liberty tossed
Weeds, dried, labeled as rolling green pastures
Fed to rabbits and fools, eyes finely glossed
Blithe, brainwashed slaves of silver-tongued masters
Bright skies of blue, so beautiful, so new;
The rebellious spoke, scoffing pipe dreams
The rebellious died, so free they flew
None dare find scissors, none dare rip the seams—
If there were only beauty and softness
Free-will would perish, succumbed to brightness
