Topsy Turvey
I lay upon my back, gazing the heavens;
Night and Day intermingled as they passed.
The upended space was the call of sirens;
Twinkling were the stars whom had amassed.
In Daylight’s last fleeting grasp the house hung;
Flanking the home, trees’ branches were roots.
The bird’s call was lost as the fire sung,
Night took over and lost were the day’s fruits.
The Suns final gift was a colored wave,
The red surge grew dark and faded ‘till gone.
The Earth’s now inverted way to behave,
The eternal match of brain against brawn.
The roles switch with each succession’s time,
Night and Day, Up and Down; eternal rhyme.
