Like Broken Glass
Broken shards glisten down my winding road,
Each piece a memoir of memories past.
My glass heart more fragile than I had showed
For every snarl and insult you cast,
I turn my should on what you call love.
Distance, growing, changing- I am new,
An Eden that you are not a part of.
This Mecca, a journey away from you.
You realize too late, your sorrow sets in.
The path I walk, my steps untraceable.
The words that you speak, they only breed sin.
While your steps grow weak, my steps grow stable.
Your toxic live I will never forget,
Walking away you will always regret.
