Loss of a Loved One
All is mislaid, a sense of helplessness
Love passed on for numerous years, now gone
No longer can you adore their presence
Nor their company at the stretch of dawn
We can find delight in faded pictures
Their memory lingers on forever
Nevermore will I look on their figure
We can fondly remember, however
You cannot undo the tears that were shed
You can’t rebuild the families broken
You cannot bring back the ones that are dead
With a memorial as a token
A polished wooden casket descends into
The ground where she begins a life anew
