Zealous Affection
I thought I saw you in the stars last night
Beneath the trees, we gazed and had conversed
My mind infected- you remained a blight
Aiding me seemed so de trop at first
A drum can’t beat as loud as my pulse did
The day my eyes first set upon your lips
How does one plague a heart, which love forbids?
For only death can halt the fear I grip
And sanguinary souls will not abide
These laws love sets will not restrain the wrath
Bloodshed is such a meager sight replied
When hearts do stray towards undesired paths
Strands kept inside my pocket square stay put,
For luck, same as one takes a rabbit’s foot.
