'Til Death Do Us Part
The hurt in me swells up like toxic fire,
Enveloping me in a lethal smoke.
My screaming heart is pushed into barbed wire.
The snake around my neck constricts to choke,
All to destroy the flame of burning love.
My silence screams so loud but is unheard.
My only hope is my Savior from above
To hear my cries and think me not absurd.
The lion in my chest claws violently,
Scraping at ribs to make the sweet escape.
Pink hearts turn black with frost bite fears, slowly
Caking on veins, like a most evil tape.
Pale skin turns cold with an unbeating heart.
The smoke has smothered. 'Til death do us part.

This amazing. When I saw the title I was hoping the phrase didn't get ruined but to my surprise, if anything, It enhanced it. This as amazingly written and I love it. I use to have the phrase with my EX boyfriend "Till death do us part" and sure enough, what you described in poem happened. I really can't say enough about this poem other then It's not one of my favortes thus far.
Keep up the good work. I hope to see more from you ^-^
This is an English sonnet that I wrote for my Creative Writing class, inspired by the abstraction: hurt.
