Eternal Frost
The new day stings just like an icy palm,
with you encompassing my every move;
so similar to apprehensive moms.
And why I seem to love you I can’t prove.
Indifference chills the warmth I always feel.
It’s torturous; it’s nothing but a taunt.
Without you everything seems so surreal.
I’ll miss the beauty you so greatly flaunt.
My world grows brighter as you disappear,
A loud drip-drop sounds when you walk away;
You leave me all alone, just standing here.
Emotions clash when you say you can’t stay.
Believing I am finally rid of you
your imminent return makes that untrue.
