Do I remember when the world took you
from me? O Little Beast can’t you see I
have died too? For my days are dark but true.
My light was you, and you my open sky.
I know I shant have one favorite child,
But you were my last, my untouched kingdom.
Boys about your age walked by, I smiled,
Combining numbers with an old rhythm.
How many times must a mother work out
How old her dead daughter could be, should be?
Pockets of my heart carry you about,
As you shout about forgiveness to me.
But if I move forward and I forgive,
The last of light will escape through a sieve.
