My School Uniform

Black Shoes

I have to wear them all the time
Inside and never out
I hope I don’t get caught
Or the teachers might shout

Zippers, Velcro, and buckles
The little ones refrain
As they say “Please help me
My fingers are in pain.”

It’s such a boar to put them on
Every day when I walk in
Then again if I don’t
It’s probably a sin

What would it be like
If the teachers had seen
Me walk in and clearly say
“On with green!”

It may go down in history
You think we’d ever try it?
Probably the first generation
To start a school shoe riot

Kilt Pin

Small sleek and shiny
Rounded on both ends
It’s small and made of metal
And only one part bends.

And with this poem
Will be some good advice
Don’t you dare take it off
Or prepare for cold and ice

Always wear it down
Don’t ever put it up
Some people might think
You don’t get enough

Don’t ever wear it side ways
Or you better prepare
For all the Scripture and the word
Because you caused some fear

And like I said don’t take it off
Or else you will hear
“Oh, my gosh where did you go?”
And give your mom a scare

Kilt

It drives me crazy in the morning
And when I start to think
Of this piece of woolly cloth
That always starts to kink

Always so heavy
So hot and thick
If I could do some thing
I’d roast it on a stick

It makes me hot in the summer
In the winter it’s not enough
And most of the time in the closet
It clutters up my stuff

This long piece of woolly cloth
Held together by a pin
And every morning I struggle with it
No way its gonna win

Knee Highs

Knee highs, knee highs
Long and black

Knee highs, knee highs
I wear to track

Knee highs, knee highs
Thick and hot

Knee highs, Knee highs
I love to wear them- NOT

My School Tie

My school tie is so long
An checkered with white
Sometimes it can be lose
Most of the time tight

It scratches up against my neck
And chokes me to the bone
Most of the time I think
The ties should be thrown

You can lose them any time
And stick them in your hair
You can clip them to your kilt
And wish it wasn’t there

VEST

Spun with blue
and has no sleeves
it matches my outfit completely
It goes down to my brothers knees
when out of the dryer it makes me sleepy

the “v” neck that shows my tie
and t-shirt sleeves pop out the side
It doesn’t show how high My kilt is on my waist
so quickly when it comes off
I put it on with haste

Its always a drag to hang up
So when after school
I quickly put it in my drawer
Which istn’t my dad’s rule

White shirt

There’s a very boring cycle
To my white school shirt
I have to put it in the wash
Because of sweat and dirt

The sweat stain on the neck
Because I rode my bike
Imagine all the dirt
If I took a hike

The bleaching and the scrubbing
The soaking and the rinsing
The “Did you put it in the dryer”
It feels like I’ve gone fishing

Then you take it out
Put it up against your face
And with one hug you’re satisfied
To feel its warm embrace

You put it in the basket
And the part you dread the most
Is hopping the hot iron
Doesn’t turn your shirt to toast

Uniforms

As you’ve read through the verses
You can clearly see
How different and unique
My uniform can be

My long black socks
And checkered tie
My vest goes to his knees
Hot and thick is my kilt
And on with green

The very boring cycle
Of my white shirt tale
And “oh, my gosh where did you go?”
And making your mom wail

But in the end I’m grateful
And fully satisfied
For I know no one will peek
to stare at my hide

The truth is that at some point, everyone's going to hurt you. You just have to decide who's worth the pain.

Some say having something to lose is what makes you vulnerable. I believe that having something to lose only makes you stronger.

This is pretty cool, not to mention well written :)
