a day of pain begins
crying on births table for hours
who thought that theyd be twins
the scent of beauty fills a room, smells like spring flowers

many years dawn
the torture and torment is seen
are we nothing but yard gnomes on someones lawn?
they thought their life has just begun at fifteen

cancerous cells take over their bodys
spreads almost as fast as a califorina wild fire
a song begans to play with dark melodys
their life to keep is their desire

these dark sickness's overtook their minds
as the burial begins the darkness is overtaken by the light winds

The author's comments:
This piece I wrote awhile ago goes pretty deep into my loss of my grandpa and when my mother had a breast cancer scare. Hence the symbolizm I used relating them as "twins" and making them seem younger.

I really like the symbolism in thie piece. I think that most poetry is the overflow of the heart and this rings true to that. I really really like this. :)
