"There are three kinds of people in the world: those who make change happen, those who watch change happen, and those who ask what happened. Be one of those who make change." -Robert Buchanan

You know it’s true; you wouldn't stand a chance
Without me, without my sweat and my work
I’m everything, what made the world advance
Yet when you see me, your face turns up, smirk

Our world grew, because I planted its seeds
Still I don’t see your thanks and gratitude
Only grew stronger when I pulled the weeds
All I hear is your vicious attitude

You are the child, the offspring of my plow
I am the beginning, the mother tree
You have forgotten, your mine even now
Everything in your life, it stemmed from me

Call me your mother, and father, your sir
For I am your life, I’m agriculture

The author's comments:
We are all so detached from agriculture nowadays that we seem to forget that we depend on it for food, clothes, and housing; and the civilized world was founded on it.
