"If a writer wrote merely for his time, I would have to break my pen and throw it away" -Victor Hugo

Extended pure white wings
attached to a graceful body
such a luscious angel
stares at me, disembodied
almost like a dream
but feels like reality
her skin is perfect
her beauty is her immortality
hair hangs loose and long
elegantly accompanying her face
her eyes seduce your inner soul
and make you think to embrace
her warmth and feel her soft skin
but as you stumble towards her
the wings dissolve from the ends
and the angel starts to blur
in place a sweet young girl
in a silky evening gown
the enchantress laughs as you stand
within her grasp, in torment you drown

you wake, chained like a slave
her laugh stuck in your mind
the pain and agony you suffer
the angel, in minutes your hearts entwined
but was it all real you ask yourself
confined in these rusted chains
you can't forget the loving face
who is keeping you restrained
footsteps and shadows come
to bring you to a dim lit room
her illusion is like a drug to you
addicted to her entrancing costume
he won't ever realize
she was just a fake
a puppet that he was
to the fantasy the enchantress makes
