Detach myself from the world whenever
My hands get clammy, I strain to sit still
This has nothing to do with the weather
More from the fact that you make me feel ill
Swallowing fruition turned to ashes
Coughing profusely, although I was not sick
All the while, always batting my lashes
Seeing you washed over me like the waves, quick
Stomach-churning was my yearning to go
Does this sound light even though it’s painful?
It was my fault as I was dying to know
Why what we did yesteryear was sinful
How it managed to cause a commotion
When I felt a myriad of emotions?
