I pen these words on sun- kissed morning bright,

My mind full of song, verses, prose, and rhymes

Upon dawn’s horizon come dreams wreathed in light

Dancing sweetly amongst bells, tune and chimes

Emotions fill me that cannot be expressed

Of light, of love, of beauty and of life

In my mind this moment is forever blessed

Pure as a song, untouched by painful strife

I desperately wish to remain here

But dreams are but dreams and it’s gone

My head falls in sorrow and my eyes tear

For life even takes this beautiful dawn

The moment is gone but mem’ries remain

Of crisp air and fire, sunlight and rain

I am a dreamer, but dreams can't always come true. Eventually you have to face yourself and realize that magic isn't real, no matter how much you wish it. And that can be hard. So, so hard. This poem was partly inspired by that, a nod to that desperately sad feeling that overtook me when I had to realize that for myself.
