My Dear Love
My dear love, you inspire me to write.
It’s the way your eyes light up when you laugh,
that same laugh which invades my dreams at night
and touches my heart, splitting it in half.
Lacking self-confidence? Let me bring you
to a river of appreciation,
one in which will never lose that soft hue
given by my endless adoration.
My dear love, oh, what I’d give to see you.
The freckles on your cheeks, the dimples in
your smile, those wide blue eyes that you see through-
when I think of you, I can’t stop my grin.
When we’re away, you’re all I can think of.
So please keep me in your thoughts, my dear love.

I’ve never written a sonnet before, so this is my first attempt. The inspiration is rather specific, but he doesn’t want to be mentioned.
