Beautifully Broken
Sour screams echoed in her head
Trembling hands hoping for something sturdy and steady
If only she knew where her life lead
All she understood was that she was far from ready
The light seemed to blind her
Yet, the darkness tried to drown what little she had left
She wanted to stay in character
But her eyes wandered over the cleaved cleft
Running her finger along the edge
The cool calmness she sought was finally found
She tiredly trembled as she inched closer to the ledge
Her tedious thoughts no longer kept her bound
Her beautifully broken wings tried stopping her fall
Resentful regret made her nothing but another doll
