Like a Dream

Coats coal black, melting into the night
Breath lingers like our distance
Your figure is a stunning sight
Your eyes stare with no resistance
Your scarf sways sweetly in the secret wind

Snow spirals in the trees
The world knows where we've been
But they won’t find us when we freeze

But in the clearing I lose my hearing
My hands freeze to my sides
You call me with your eyes
I can’t scream when you vanish like a dream
