Nashville
Sitting on the porch trying to contemplate life
Daddy’s been drinking again and momma cries
My friends are home getting high on love
And I’m sitting in this bum chair
hoping someday I’ll be alright
Nashville the town I love
Even though I’ve never seen
Full of that country twang and old blue jeans
Full of hope and happiness
Singing my song of love and hope
That one day I’ll be home
The girls say I’m not cool
You’re not peppy and fun
Momma expect me to be perfect
Ain’t she just a fool
The Anxiety is pent up in me
like the song in my heart
And Daddy’s little princess is cutting again
All alone in the dark
Nashville the town I love
Even though I’ve never seen
Full of that country twang and old blue jeans
Full of hope and happiness
Singing my song of love and hope
That one day I’ll be home
Now I’m on my way to better things
Running to my dreams
Mommas crying again
But is happy for me
Daddy stopped his drinking
And is proud of his princess
And I will never forget the trek I’ve been through
Nashville the town I love
Even though I’ve never seen
Full of that country twang and old blue jeans
Full of hope and happiness
Singing my song of love and hope
That one day I’ll be home
Now I’m home and happy
Proud of myself for what I’ve become
