Brittle Boy, so young and unbound
Plastic boy, disintegrated smile
Julie, girl, silliness is your song
Good god girl, you’ve done no wrong

Something’s wrong in my mind
I feel like you’ve been left behind
Being from the unfound dreams
Drowning in champagne streams

Doing the undoable, undone
Singing for the songs yet unsung
The wicked tried unfairly fought
Bringing down the kid who thought…

Chorus:
Mother, put me up in my highchair
Let me be king and let me sing
Daddy, old man, you let me be who I am
Let me dream and think and see
Sister, show me how to look inward
Let me search for what’s really good
Brother, changing face, teach me things
Let me believe in what I could be

Billy boy, bond by the lies you wept
Brethren show me the things you kept
Little James, sever off your tethered hand
Escape with me, now’s the chance

Liberated liberators liberally lying
Literally sheathing with yawns and sighing
Teaching fools to be brothers in arms
Showing criminals to hardened stars

Chorus:
Sally, so you think you are…
Did your mommy try to explain?
No… She did what she should’ve done
She lived a lie so full of pain
Nathan Adler is an unknown lead
A slinking secret singing man
With other friends, nameless men
To dance with troubled midwifery
-
Strange, isn’t dolly-boy?
What with your tight curls

Thank you so very much! Yes, I have read Catcher in the Rye, and in some part, it did inspire this song. Again, thank you for your review, it does mean a lot to me.

This was by far the most beautiful song I have heard yet from this site. If you haven't read Catcher in the Rye I recommend it for you. Thank you for sharing this,it made me smile and remind me of how much we try to protect innocence, but in the end it can't be saved.
