Sticks and Stones
Go on
Just try.
To look me in the eye
and tell me those cursed lines.
Because
get what
It’s more than a cut
When they say those wretched lies
“You’re fat”
“so dumb”
‘til we’re nothing but numb
And proceed to laugh in my face.
So sticks
and stones
may break my bones
But it’s worse to feel disgrace.
That gun
of words
sung by the birds
will crush your biggest feat.
An arsenal
of names
they say as games
to fill you with defeat.
And then
they pull
the trigger, so dull
and watch you fall into the deep
and then
you start
to feel in your heart
sadness and start to weep
the dark
despair
that is from where
they decided to push you down.
And as
you wait
all filled with hate
you wish that you could just drown.
But then
you stop
and look at the top
and see it’s not too far.
So you
hold on
and carry on
faster than any car.
You move
so high
until you reach the sky
proud of what you have done.
and you
have now
deserved a bow
because you’ve finally reached the Sun.
